Name any major wrestling personality and they're quite likely to know the name Bill Apter -- arguably the most well-known and respected journalist in the industry.
Going back to the 1970's, Apter was a writer at Stanley Weston's family of wrestling publications, kayfabe-friendly titles that included Sports Review Wrestling and The Wrestler. Soon, he became Senior Editor for the magazines, which included the iconic Pro Wrestling Illustrated and many others. He was so closely associated with the family of magazines that they eventually became known by fans as "The Apter Mags" - even though he wasn't the only person behind them.
Since then, he became a driving force behind the groundbreaking WOW Magazine (one of the very first wrestling magazines to break kayfabe), Fighting Spirit Magazine, Total Wrestling Magazine and 1wrestling.com. Apter has also appeared as an expert in several wrestling promotions, most recently on WWE Network.
Undoubtedly, Bill Apter has interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry, ranging from Bruno Sammartino to Bret Hart and from Terry Funk to Triple H. But this month, on the occasion of Canadian Bulldog's World's first anniversary.... he allowed US to ask the tough questions!
