With WrestleMania 34 coming up in mere days, Canadian Bulldog and the CBW staff writers (ZAH, Mike Rickard, The Big Rybowski and Adam Zimmerman) make their predictions on who will win and who will lose!
ZAH: I just don’t see how we can expect any end game other than Roman winning the Universal Championship. WWE has been positioning Brock as the heel and Roman as the “Austin-esque held-back attack authority” babyface, which has been working to an extent. Will it work against a famously “smart” live crowd? Of course not. WWE can only hope there are enough girls and younger kids screaming in the audience that can drown out the male boo-birds. WINNER: Roman Reigns
Adam Zimmerman: I think Brock's gonna win because he has a very particular set of skills; skills he's acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for people like Reigns. WINNER: Brock Lesnar
Mike Rickard: The fact Roman Reigns is still in the main event shows how stubborn Vince McMahon is. Rumor has it Reigns has been penciled in to be Lesnar’s opponent since the end of WrestleMania XXXIII and he’s still there, despite the fans booing Reigns. I hope the WWE gets the belt off Lesnar because the part-time champion thing doesn’t cut it (although I wish it was Braun Strowman with the belt). Unfortunately, Vince McMahon has become Verne Gagne. WINNER: Roman Reigns (The Real Winner: Brock Lesnar for collecting big money checks for appearances slightly less rare than lunar eclipses.)
The Big Rybowski: Brock Lesnar has had a great year long championship run. It seems that every time you think his reign may be up, he finds a way to retain. But this time I think it will be different. It’s no secret that Roman Reigns is viewed as the top guy in the company, and I believe that he’s about to get his title back. WINNER: Roman Reigns
Canadian Bulldog: Go back to the previous Brock Lesnar-Roman Reigns WrestleMania match. No one was really looking forward to it... yet it ended up being an extremely underrated main event. This year, logic suggests that it's time for Roman to get back the big win many anticipated for him years ago -- not over Triple H or anyone else, but against The Beast Incarnate -- and I'm not inclined to go against that logic. Here's to another year of WWE fans booing the top babyface. WINNER: Roman Reigns
